I once worked as an HCA at an LTC facility. I had been out of the field for a couple of years and really missed the interaction I had with my residents. I went online to find a school to upgrade to PSW and discovered Edge Academy. When I went to meet Pauline she informed me about an opportunity with Acclaim Health, where the agency would help to pay for the course and set me up with a job when I am done.
Pauline and Ed were so supportive, taking time to make sure that everyone understands what was being discussed, no question was overlooked. I would like to thank Pauline and Ed for being so supportive and telling me about this opportunity when I came in all those months ago to find out about upgrading. That was a big turning point for me and I will be forever grateful.

I would like to express my complete satisfaction of the very high teaching and training standards of Edge Academy. One of the advantages of this school is its ability to offer the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program on a part-time basis. I found this feature to be immensely attractive. I do have a full-time job, and it would have been impossible for me to complete the PSW program had I not found Edge Academy.
As soon as the course started I noticed that Pauline, who is the coordinator at this school, to be extremely knowledgeable in the subject she was teaching. I have been a facilitator and trainer most of my life, and I can say without hesitation that, Pauline has the ability, knowledge and enthusiasm for providing the utmost support to the students for their success in the program. I found her teaching style and the timely feedback to be immensely helpful in preparing for the evaluations during the program. She was always available to clarify any questions during the program. I found her to be very supportive, patient, extremely knowledgeable in the course material, and fully dedicated to my success in the program.
As a result of the above-mentioned, I completed my PSW program with honours. Most importantly, I am very grateful to Pauline for the practicum, at one of the finest nursing homes in Burlington. At this facility, I gained all the confidence I needed to provide the utmost care to my Clients.

I've had several friends and co-workers who went though the Personal Support Worker program at Edge Academy who all had great experiences and moved on to careers in hospital, long term care settings and some even into management positions. The program is great for people with busy lives who can't afford to return to school and work fulltime. The flexibility of Edge Academy's program, means you can still work full time all while getting your education. Pauline was so attentive and quick to respond to all my questions, that it felt like I had a one on one instructor the whole way.

If you are choosing a school to take your PSW course, I would highly recommend Edge Academy in Burlington Ont. The instructor is an amazing woman, who really cares about her students and wants you to be the best PSW you can be. The program is well set up, easy to follow and the instructor is there pretty much 24/7 for her students.
